Christoph Saatjohann

Prof. Dr. Christoph Saatjohann studied IT security at Ruhr University Bochum in Germany and the University of Birmingham in the UK. He then spent several years working as an automotive security engineer at the Bosch Group, primarily in the field of cryptographic software libraries.

Between 2019 and 2023, Prof. Saatjohann earned his PhD in medical IT security at Ruhr University Bochum. During this time, he worked as a research assistant in the Laboratory for IT Security at FH Münster, serving as a (co-)project manager for research projects in the field of medical IT security. Starting in April 2023, he helped establish the newly founded “Applied Cryptography and Medical IT Security” department at Fraunhofer SIT as deputy department head. There, he was responsible for training programs and projects in the field of IT security in medicine.

Since September 2024, Prof. Saatjohann has headed the Laboratory for Embedded Security at FH Münster, actively conducts research in the field of IT security in digitalized medicine, and publishes at academic conferences as well as IT security congresses.
