Dr. Christoph Wegener holds a PhD in Physics and has freelanced with wecon.it-consulting in information security, data protection and open source since 1999. His focus is on designing and evaluating security-relevant processes and in particular on the cross-section of law and technology.

Besides working as a freelancer, he was project coordinator for Horst Görtz Institute for IT Security (HGI) and later IT manager for the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, both at Ruhr-University Bochum.

Dr. Christoph Wegener is an author of specialist books, has published numerous articles in important specialist magazines, speaks at national and international conferences, and he is committed to, for example, providing training in information security and data protection in the context of teaching assignments.
